Which facewash is best please?

Does anybody have a favourite facewash they could recommend please ?

Is 'ph balanced' better than not 'ph balanced'?

Does anybody know of a reasonably priced 'natural' one.

Thanks v. much.

It all depends on your skin type really.

Most people recommend a 3 step system--facewash, toner, moisturizer.

I have always been a big fan of neutrogena products because they are good/cheap/efficient.

However, I do use Clinique products at the moment--more expensive yes, but the bottles last for ages and they can get a system going for you that matches your skin type.

Don't know about natural though..... I heard Bert's Bee's products are good actually.  I use their hair mask sometimes...good stuff.

I really like Dove's Gentle Exfoliating face wash, but recently I've started using Neutrogena's Deep Cleanse and I like that a lot too.

I heard something recently about if you don't wash your face at night, it's like adding 5 days onto your life.  Has anyone else heard this? That scares me since I used to rarely wash my face at night!

Also, does everyone follow the same face washing regimen in the morning and night?

^ i never heard the adding 5 years onto your life thing, but, i think its important to wash your face at night as your skin does a lot of its "magic" at night.

Plus its good to get all the day's gunk off your face before going to bed.  It's also a good idea to change your pillowcase often so that you don't always sleep on the same dead skin cells/bacteria.

I follow the same regime morning and night (more convinient) but, a lot of people who use anti-wrinkle products tend to use a day cream and a night cream (moisturizers)  it all depends on preference and need really.

I'm 24, practically 25, and i started using an antioxidant cream at night, but i can't use it often.  Anti-wrinkle creams tend to be a bit "heavy" if you will, for younger skin, so it sometimes makes me breakout.

Like i have said before though--everybody should add a sunscreen to their face/skin care regime.  You can get moisturizers with SPF, or "makeup primers" with spf, or just plain, gentle, face sunscreen.  That is what is going to make you younger in the long run.

Hello dekim,

Why don't you use homemade face wash, masks and scrubs? You can simply prepare them with the same ingredients you use to make breakfast  Smiley and it's really sometimes cost you like one egg or something.

You can try this simple mask/facewash:

Mix 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply to skin and leave for 10 – 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. This medley can be used every day. Good to prevent wrinkles.

Aveeno has a great skincare line! Burt's Bee is completely natural so you can try that but they're more expensive.

All natural, cheap and you probably have most of it in the kitchen already.

Face wash - clean cold wet wash cloth, gently wash face with cloth--I always have white ones
Olive oil - if you have heavy caky eye makeup--though I use eye makeup and never use anything more than my wash cloth
Baking soda w/water - make paste and use as exfoliant as needed, rinse with cold water (if you use hot water it won't close pores) - i use bout every 2-3 days (helps with blackheads)
Apple cider vinegar - use as toner (also helps with acne)--use either organic or grocery store brand--though lately i have switched to organic just for my face it seems to be helping better just costs a bit more
Virgin Coconut oil (organic) - use as moisturizer (also helps with acne)
Honey - as an occasional face mask

I have combination oily acne prone skin with nice t zone. This routine has done wonders for me. Best of all it is all natural and minus the coconut oil, i had everything in my cabinets already. You should never start more than one thing at a the same time. Add 1 item into your current routine per week-2weeks before you add the next. Otherwise if you break out/have problems how will you know which one it was. The vinegar and coconut mentioned here are natural detoxifiers. You may experience a worse before you get better but it was well worth it for the results I have now and expect to continue to see well into my 90's & 100's.
